🛠 Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, inspect, and repair all electrical and electronic systems onboard the TUG vessel

  • Monitor and troubleshoot power generation, propulsion, and electrical distribution systems

  • Ensure compliance with marine safety regulations and vessel operational procedures

  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new electrical equipment

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and repair documentation

  • Coordinate with the ship’s engineering crew and technical support teams for system reliability

  • Diagnose electrical faults and perform preventive and corrective maintenance

  • Support emergency response procedures and participate in onboard safety drills

  • Ensure all equipment operates according to international maritime safety standards


🎓 Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Valid Electro-Technical Officer Certificate of Competency (ETO COC III/6) issued by the home country

  • Valid Marlins Test Certificate from an approved testing center

  • Valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate, including booster dose

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an ETO on offshore or similar vessels

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems and power generation equipment

  • Experience with vessel propulsion systems, power distribution, and electronic controls

  • Ability to perform fault diagnosis and electrical system troubleshooting

  • Familiarity with marine safety compliance and operational standards

Additional Requirements

  • All maritime certificates must be valid for at least 12–14 months

  • Ability to work in offshore rotation schedules (90 days ON / 30–60 days OFF)

  • Strong technical problem-solving and teamwork skills

Preferred Professional Development

  • STCW maritime safety certifications

  • Advanced training in marine electrical systems and automation

  • Offshore safety training such as BOSIET or equivalent

Average Market Salary (Estimated):
USD 3,500 – 5,500 per month for experienced Electro-Technical Officers on offshore vessels in the Middle East region

Compensation Type: Monthly offshore contract salary

Rotation Schedule

  • 90 Days ON / 30–60 Days OFF (Unpaid)
